Building Access at Woodman Point

We have assessed the buildings best we can, and all should be accessible for wheelchairs, gophers, prams etc. There are no stairs which we will need to use. There is ramp access to the buildings we will be using.

WA SSPA Branch will try and provide as many foot stools from our homes as possible to assist in access for short statured people at the convention.

Room Configuration

Most rooms contain a pair of bunk beds, so sleep four people.

There are four rooms which can sleep six people, for larger families.

Bathrooms –

Each of the four shared bathrooms contains-

  • a disabled toilet/shower
  • two separate shower cubicles
  • two other toilets.

Hair dryers to be supplied by Perth participants.

We will also try and include a full length mirror for each bathroom, positioned for short statured people to use comfortably.

Guest laundry-

  • A shared laundry is available.
  • There are two coin-operated (4 x $1 coin per load) top loader washing machines, laundry trough and bench.
  • (We will bring extra $1.00 coins should you need to exchange money.)
  • We will supply washing detergent, foot stools and an “arm extension grabber device” to reach wet clothes at the bottom of the machine.
  • There will be pegs and a low clothes line for short statured people to use.
  • An ironing board and iron will be in the laundry.
  • We would suggest if you need to iron clothing in readiness for our Dinner Dance, it should be done early to avoid the last minute rush and waiting for the iron!
  • Buckets for soaking clothes and washing baskets will be available to take clothes to the line.

This could make your clothes packing easier!

With such activities as abseiling, flying fox, rock climbing, archery, kite making, raft building, snorkelling, surf ski paddling just to name a few.
