Social Group report – June 2014
On the weekend of the 12th of April 2014, the SSPA Tasmanian social group got together and held their own Easter celebration. It was a great chance to catch up, sit back in the sunshine at the beautiful Royal Hobart Botanical gardens and watch the children laugh and have fun. And what fun they did have! Nayte and Lachlan didn’t sit down all day and seemed to always have a footy in their hands kicking to each other and practising their marking skills. The big kid of the group, Wayne Ackerley (Naytes father), joined in and chased them around resulting in the boys laughter echoing through the very large and varied range of trees from around the world, filling the air with so much happiness.
The boys also seemed to be spying on the Easter “bunnies” Tameeka and Sarah whilst they were hiding the Easter eggs amongst the autumn leaves and stone work. Then, the egg scramble was on! Children were running everywhere once they were given the all clear. Some were collecting and holding as many eggs as they could while others were bringing them back to the picnic rug and then going back for more. Once all the eggs were collected they were all divided up equally between them so that they all had the same amount.
It was so lovely to catch up with all who attended. Chris Voss, who always there to help out with anything and his lovely mum Lorraine, Glenda and Chris Radcliffe – not forgetting Wayne, Tameeka Ackerley and their four beautiful children, Nayte, Millie, Kobie and Ethan.
nfortunately, John, Ruth and Jack from Bruny Island were unable to attend and gave their apologies. I would also like to take this time to say that the Tassie group would like to send their love and support to John, Ruth and Jack at this hard time in their lives. Thinking of you and looking forward to seeing your smiling faces again soon.
There are no future events in Tasmania being organised at this time. If any member would like to suggest an event or place where they would like to go to, please contact Sarah on: [email protected]
My suggestions: mini golf day, Launceston day at the Cataract Gorge, BBQ Salmon Ponds at Plenty, Bbq at the Wineries in Richmond, I highly recommend Puddle Duck Winery. I welcome any input into any of these casual days. Please let me know.
