Hi Everyone,
Now we have all come back down to earth after the Queensland Convention, we are enjoying the Festive Season very much. We wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a Millennium New Year.
We had our Christmas Get-Together in early December at Carole and Wayne Hardy's who put on a lovely spread. Thank you Wayne and Carole. It was a lovely day and the children played and swam in the pool while the elders sat by the pool and sipped on beverages.
I would like to welcome Craig McDonald to the National Committee and also thank him for his input into the Queensland Group. We hope to have our first meeting on Saturday 12th February at Lee and Beccy's place at Burleigh Waters. We will meet and plan our future meetings.
That is all for now, until next time. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Millennium New Year.
Beccy Whichello, Queensland Branch Co-Treasurer
Queensland's first meeting for the new Millennium was a real party. Rain couldn't dampen the fun atmosphere at Beccy and Lee Whichello's home, at Burleigh Waters. Everyone was outfitted with balloon hats and accessories, fake tattoos, face paint.
Lee did a great impersonation of Spiderman, Coco and Cuddles the Clown kept everyone entertained with their party games. Bethany Wells was a winning streak after she won both pass the parcel and musical chairs. It was great to meet new members Maree and Matthew Minter and Derek Gratz.
The Queensland Branch is planning lots of different activities this year, including fun outings and dinners. At the moment the Branch is busy with planning a fundraising Golf Day.
On Sunday 26th March, the Queensland Branch held its AGM at the Wells' home and was well attended. At the meeting we talked again about the future organisation of the Queensland Group. This discussion will be continued at the next meeting on 24th June at my home in Brisbane.
Also at the AGM the following office-bearers were elected for the year 2000/2001:
Chairperson: Beccy Whichello
Secretary: Jo Eager
Treasurers: Anna-Marie McDonald & Cathy Hobbs
Joanne Eager, Queensland Branch Secretary
Hi everyone,
July has been a very busy month for the Queensland branch. During the month we held a "Christmas in July" dinner and had a fun Golf Day to raise money for the Branch.
A big thank-you to Craig and Anna-Marie McDonald for organising these wonderful events.
Regards from,
Joanne Eager, Queensland Branch Secretary
Firstly, a big thank-you goes to Rob Dye for organising the last fundraising golf day. Thanks also to Kate Batch for hosting the last meeting, which was a little while ago now.
The next Queensland branch meeting will be held early in the New Year. Further information will be mailed out, once and location is decided.
I wish everyone happy holidays and a great New Year. I look forward to catching up with you all early next year.
Regards,
Joanne Eager, Queensland Branch Secretary
Here is the news from Queensland. The first Queensland branch meeting for 2001 will be held at Joanne Eager's house in Brisbane, on Sunday 25 February. It will be a good opportunity to catch up after the Christmas and New Year break. At the meeting we will be planning future activities for the year, so please bring along plenty of ideas.
Regards,
Joanne Eager, Queensland Branch Secretary
After a slow start, the Queensland branch has been busy in the last two months. Our first meeting for the year was held in late February at my house. It was great to catch up with everyone after an extended summer break. We decided to make 2001 bigger and better for the Queensland branch. We're planning a year of fun events like mini-golf, picnics and dinners - and we promise we'll have a Christmas party this year! (Santa got lost heading north last year.)
Our second meeting was held recently at Kate and Terry Batch's home. Our AGM was conducted with the absent David Hobbs being elected Chairperson. Cathy Hobbs swears that he volunteered for the position. Cathy was re-elected as Treasurer without too much pushing. Kate Batch and Ruth Wells were elected joint activities coordinators. I was re-elected Secretary, but on the proviso that I write more in the Journal.
The next Queensland event will be a picnic in New Farm Park on Sunday 3 June. Queenslanders can watch out for a newsletter closer to the event. Hope to see lots of you there.
Bye from the North,
Joanne Eager, Queensland Branch Secretary

Our Christmas get together was at Redcliff Lagoon, last Sunday 6th
December. It was a hot sunny day and everyone had awesome time. Adults
& children chilled out in the lagoon, it was very refreshing. After
lunch, most were back in the water again.
We all agreed to have another day at the lagoon as everyone enjoyed
themselves.
The next get together is at Noosa Botanical Gardens on the 17th January
2010. On 14th February 2010, we are meeting at Golden Beach Park
at Caloundra.
Wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Great New Year!
